Adult Foster Care

AFC Program is available to clients who have Masshealth, are over the age of 16, have a chronic illness or disability, who need assistance with daily activities and are unable to live alone safely.

Assistance to people
with physical or mental disabilities:

Living in a private home

24/7 assistance with daily activities

Help with arranging medical care

Transportation

Meals

Financial assistance to family/caregiver:

Up to $1,500 per client per month tax-free

Compensation can be paid to family members (except for client’s spouse and parents of minor children) for taking care of their loved ones at home.

For those people who do not have a place to live, we can assist with finding appropriate housing and a caregiver.

Group Adult Foster Care

GAFC provides assistance with activities of daily living such as personal care, light housekeeping services, medication reminders, shopping, meal preparation and laundry.

Clients must be MassHealth recipients, be 22 years of age or older, have a medical diagnosis, need daily assistance with personal care needs and be approved by your physician.

MetroCare will introduce a caregiver who comes to your home and provide services.
